Hospital Visit

Recently I had gotten sick and had a hospital stay. I went to the emergency room complaining of shortness of breath and tightness in the chest and weakness they admitted me right away and I stayed for 3 days. During my stay I was so exhausted and sleeping alot, they were waking me up every 4 hours to draw blood and to run test after test. They did x rays, hooked me up to an EKG, even did a cath to look for clogged arteries and blockages and found nothing. Next they did an ultrasound on my heart and an MRI all came back fine. On the third day the Dr came in to talk with me and said they could not find anything wrong with me and that the hospital was for people dying What? I always thought the hospital was for people that are sick immediatley I instructed the Dr to discharge me after spending three days and thousands of dollars they could not find a diagnoses. I knew now that I was going to have to do some extensive research and diagnose myself, I knew I had a history of allergies and asthma so I started there. I was shocked to find out with asthma you can go into a catastrophic state where there is no wheezing or coughing and you become weak and could die. Now something is starting to make sense, I made an appointment with an allergy asthma specialist and I began to tell the Dr my symptoms. After alot of questions on medical history and past diagnoses the Dr confirmed I was in a catastrophic state of Asthma. Amazing I was able to diagnose myself and now I am on the road to recovery. I am angry because this could have been fatal for me, according to beating-asthma.com Approximately 180,000 people die every year through asthma related illness. It's estimated that about 1 in every 250 deaths worldwide are related to asthma.
